At a recent art fair the number one comment was that the painting ' looked like velvet'. Contrasting metallic metal paint with the vivid raspberry highlighted with iridescent yellow allows this painting to shimmer and move. In line with Clares recent work of densely painting canvases, building up layers of textures and paint creating new compositions and imaginings. Consciously never using any representational imagery, the artwork is purely abstract allowing the viewer the freedom to engage both visually and emotionally with the piece. The viewer then forms their own relationship with the art and it becomes uniquely theirs.
