Trends, help & advice

Here’s the snitch: these fashion and lifestyle trends will be huge in 2025

1 Dec, 2024

As the festive season gets underway and the new year nips at our heels, we can’t help but wonder what 2025 has in store for us, our homes, and our closets.

It’s officially December which means in four short weeks, it’ll be 2025 (we know, we can’t believe it either!). As we round out the first quarter century of this millennium, we can’t help but wonder what the new year has in store for us, our homes, and even our wardrobes. From sustainable style habits and minimalist home design to thoughtful movement for the body and the mind, here are all the fashion and lifestyle trends you can expect to see, wear, and experience in 2025.

Sustainably made fashion & accessories

You don’t need us to tell you how destructive the fast fashion industry is for our planet. But if we did, we’d tell you it’s responsible for around 10% of carbon emissions and 20% of wastewater globally - yikes.

Luckily, even more of us will turn our attention to sustainably made clothing, shoes, and accessories in 2025. Investing in staple items that are ethically and responsibly made, and made to last. Look out for pieces handcrafted with care, so they not only make you look good but feel good too.

Focusing equally on mental & physical health

Once the slogan for every January ad campaign and pestering email from your local gym, the phrase ‘New Year, New You’ means something more in 2025. Gone are the days of liquidizing every meal, seven straight days at the gym, and the ever-mounting pressure to ‘shed for summer’ These days, we’re focused on morning meditations, mindful movement, and eating to nourish rather than deprive our bodies and minds. Speaking of which, taking care of our mental health will remain just as, if not more, important than our physical well-being in the year to come. We’re keeping everything crossed that, alongside sustainable practices and purchases, this ‘trend’ remains a way of life.

Bucket list travel

Eagle-eyed scrollers will notice that #TravelTok, #Wanderlust, #Adventure, and #explore are trending like never before. That’s unlikely to change in 2025. With more affordable flight costs, countless hotel deals, and the collective YOLO that is social media, we’re getting into the mindset that if we don’t do it now, we probably never will. So, if you can, we highly recommend turning those dream destinations into real-life experiences in the next twelve months.

Working from home (and making the most of your WFH space)

Going hand in hand with efforts to tick off multiple destinations on our bucket lists, more and more of us will choose to work from home whenever humanly possible. We’re realising the importance of a healthy work/life balance and if we can skip the hour-long commutes to write emails on the couch and make coffee in our own kitchens, we will.

With that, carving out suitable work-from-home spaces will stay a top priority - think fun meets functional. You should be able to focus at all times but reap the benefits of home comforts, surrounded by things you love and feel inspired by.

Intentional purchasing & investing in wardrobe staples

Whether it’s buying a new sweater, shopping for groceries, or sourcing a new piece of art for the home, it looks like 2025 will see a continued effort in the sustainable shopping movement - hurrah! We’ll champion brand transparency alongside sustainably crafted clothes and homeware, and ethically sourced food and drinks.Think thrifting ‘new’ wardrobe staples, perusing farmers' markets instead of supermarkets, and supporting local artists to produce the artwork inside your home.

Hotel-inspired home design

Somewhere between the rising cost of living and simply wanting to slow down and lead a more intentional, calm, and wholesome lifestyle, people are spending more and more time (funnily enough in the place where they spend most of their money) at home.

However, the desire to experience beautiful interior design as we would in fancy restaurants, boutique hotels, and department stores remains. With that, we’ll all be leaning into the hotel-chic aesthetic within our own homes this year. Multiple duvets on the bed, wool and leather scatter cushions on the sofa, and even spa-inspired bathroom decor will be everywhere in 2025.
