Anna Tuomaala, the Designer behind Emilia Mala, named the brand by combining her middle name and end of her surname. The brand’s objective is to offer a contemporary twist on the classic silk scarf by infusing it with a dark aesthetic and elegance, creating vibrant, hand-drawn print stories that reimagine this timeless accessory.

The intricately illustrated prints often draw inspiration from themes such as consumerism, hedonism, spiritual wisdom, and female empowerment, telling atmospheric visual stories through the use of symbolism and a surrealistic style.
